Why Preschool?

Current research shows that a quality preschool education significantly improves a child's later life opportunities by giving them increased language, learning and social skills on entry to primary school. The benefits are long lasting.

There are many benefits for both children and families to be gained from the pre-school experience.

  • preschool has a positive effect on intellectual and social skills, independent of background
  • improved language and communication skills
  • preschool improves children’s ability to think, problem solve and reason as they enter school, enabling them to learn more in the early grades
  • preschool develops social and emotional maturity and the ability to relate well to peers and adults, solve conflicts, play co-operatively and be assertive
  • children develop independence, self esteem and self confidence
  • they have a greater understanding of the world around them and increased general knowledge
  • they are encouraged to be independent learners and to take an active role in their learning
  • preschool is a fun place to be with varied and exciting activities planned to meet the needs of individual children and develop individual skills
